African America Hair - SHort or Long

I've been thinking about a new style.  I'm a little bit on the heavier side with a round face.  What would you girls recommend.  Braided and short, straight and short? Long and braided? or Long and straight? 

Currently my hair is about shoulder length if I straighten it out. 

Anyone have pictures of something that would work for me?
